ODM is the case where you have a requirement but not yet a specification: a device that needs internal storage, a host you need it to enumerate on, a budget and a mechanical envelope. We develop the configuration with you — die format, capacity, controller solution and package — and hand back a specification you can take into design review. The decision that matters most at this stage is controller selection, because the most common integration failure is a part that does not enumerate reliably on the host, and that is a controller compatibility problem far more often than a capacity problem. You validate a sample on your own hardware before committing to volume.

Mechanical fit
UDP modules at 11.3 × 24.8 × 1.45 mm or semi-finished boards at 12 × 44 × 4.5 mm, matched to your enclosure drawing.

Supply planning
NAND packages are discontinued on the supplier’s schedule, not yours. A product with a multi-year life needs a plan for it.

Mechanical clearance decides between a UDP module and a semi-finished board. Send the drawing rather than describing it.
It has to be available in three years
NAND suppliers discontinue packages on their own schedule. Tell us your expected production life and we will plan for it.

What is the difference between ODM and OEM?
In ODM you bring the requirement and we develop the configuration with you. In OEM you bring the specification and we manufacture to it. Both run on the same production chain — the difference is how much of the configuration is decided before you contact us. See OEM flash memory manufacturing.
How long does development take?
It depends on how much of the configuration is already known and how much host validation you need. Send your requirement and target date and we will confirm a schedule rather than quoting a generic number.
Will you sign an NDA before I share my design?

Can you supply a datasheet?
Yes — a specification and drawing covering dimensions, interface, capacity, controller solution and package format, prepared for your design review.
What is the minimum order quantity for a developed configuration?
MOQ depends on capacity, controller solution and whether tooling is required. It is confirmed with the quotation rather than applied as a standard figure.
